Armored Core 6: Early Stages Simplified in Recent Update

FromSoftware has rolled out an update for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon that seems to ease its early gameplay. This update, or Patch 1.02, can be accessed on both consoles and PCs and contains typical alterations like balance tweaks and bug rectifications.

More significantly, there are modifications to the attacks by three formidable bosses: Balteus, Sea Spider, and CEL240. In the gaming spectrum, these bosses complete chapters one, two, and four respectively. However, it remains ambiguous whether these changes will either weaken or fortify these bosses.

A noticeable change from this update is the enhanced attack power and decreased reload time for numerous weapons, which are available from the start at the parts store.

The implementation of these weapon enhancements should now mean that there are better strategies for defeating the most challenging bosses in the game.

Announcingly, the Songbirds grenade launcher and Zimmerman shotgun have not been weakened in spite of being acknowledged by the community as somewhat overpowering. These weapons can obliterate many bosses, especially if dual-wielded.

The full details of this patch can be referenced in the patch notes. FromSoftware also states that a specific Player versus Player balance alteration will be released later.

Even with these adjustments, if the game maintains its difficulty, one PC Modder offers an easy mode option.

Despite its tough reputation, Armored Core 6 still stands as one of the top mech games, as indicated by our review.
