“Recurring Notifications” for Business Messaging Will Be Available by Meta

Meta keeps making the experience of using its products for businesses more convenient. Recently, Meta has announced that they are about to launch “Recurring Notifications” on the Messenger Platform which will enable businesses to send “proactive messages” to their loyal customers and those who are interested in the company’s products or services.

Businesses will be able to raise awareness of their products, services, and upcoming changes not only by means of sending newsletters via email but also by sending proactive messages via Messenger. Like in emails, recipients will have an option to agree to receive them or refuse the notifications, and choose how frequently they would like to receive the notifications. Businesses will benefit from the feature by adding some new possibilities to their marketing campaigns and sending the customers any information they prefer.

However, for the privacy of users, businesses have some limitations. Companies are allowed to contact a user once they sent a message first, the response from businesses should arrive within 24 hours so that they could share their promotional content with their potential customers.

The “Recurring Notifications” premium feature will lift some restrictions from brands. The option is currently available as a free trial period. However, it is still not mentioned how much the feature will cost to companies. Probably, Meta is attempting to make Messenger as attractive for developing markets as WhatsApp which has already gathered brands as a connective element with users.

If the project is liked by brands, Meta will benefit and generate high revenue from it. However, the company is not ready to reveal more detailed information to businesses.
Would you like to receive more notifications from Messenger? Will the feature be a success? Share your opinion in the comments down below.
