League of Legends Preseason Update: Now, Pings Make More Sense

In a game as much built upon team interactions as League of Legends, communication is the key. The new season will greet the players with the updated Ping Wheel, making fast communication in the middle of the battle even easier. Meet the new Pings for Preseason 2023 which make this feature even more useful than it was!

It’s hard to imagine a League of Legends player who has never used Pings. Even if you prefer not to send your own Pings, you see those from your teammates and probably respond. Now you will read these signals even more precisely, because there re four more pings in addition to the four previously present.

As you remember, previously the ping wheel contained four standard messages: Rerteat, Assist Me, On My Way, and Enemy Missing. These four now shrink, despite remaining where they used to be. Now, they are accompanied with four more pings: Push, Hold, All-In, and Bait. The first two of them are great to coordinate the group tactics, telling everyone what to do where the ping is.

Along with the old wheel with doubled functionality, there is a brand-new vision ping wheel which so far contains three signals. They are: Vision Cleared, Enemy Vision, and Need Vision. These will help your team stay aware and better collaborate. If you want zero wheels, though, you can just disable them in the menu. Despite that, you will still see the pings sent by your teammates and be able to respond.

If the player that sends the ping is offscreen now, the ping will be displayed at the edge of the screen, showing where it comes from. The pings will only be shown if they are sent from within 3,000 units from your screen edge.

What do you think about this addition? Do you hope it will be easy to adjust to the new wheel(s) and recognize the pings at once? Share your impressions with us in the comment section!
