Innersloth, an American game developer, unveiled "Among Us," a social deduction multiplayer game with online capabilities, in 2018. Initially launched for iOS/Android in June 2018, the game expanded to Windows systems in November of the same year, allowing players across different devices to engage with each other. By December 2020, the title made its way to the Nintendo Switch console, and there were intentions to bring the sensation to additional platforms, including the Xbox Series X/S/One and  PlayStation 4/5, within the following year, 2021.

Gameplay

Among Us intricately weaves its foundational gameplay elements from timeless classics such as Mafia, coupled with the suspenseful vibes akin to the film The Thing, placing its intriguing escapades amidst the boundless cosmos. Participants assume one of two distinct identities: the majority as diligent Crewmates and a select few assigned as stealthy Impostors. Team members aim to achieve two primary objectives: revealing the identities of their cunning peers as they endeavor to accomplish a variety of missions distributed across the gaming landscape. In contrast, Impostors are tasked with covertly disrupting the Crewmates and tactically picking them off, one by one. Should suspicion arise, players have the power to call an emergency assembly (except in moments of crisis) or announce the discovery of a deceased participant to hold a vote—requiring a majority—to potentially cast out an alleged Impostor. Victory for the Crewmates hinges on successfully expelling all Impostors or achieving all tasks, while Impostors claim success by balancing their numbers with the Crewmates or by causing a game-ending sabotage that goes unaddressed.

Graphics

Experts have universally applauded the distinctive aesthetic of Among Us, observing that the game's visual craftsmanship greatly amplifies its atmospheric quality.
