Football Manager 2024 has become the most popular installment in the franchise to date

Sports Interactive has recently announced that Football Manager 2024 has become the franchise's most-played game ever. The twentieth edition of the celebrated sports series has rapidly attracted over seven million players, surpassing its predecessor, Football Manager 2023, which had a peak player count of 6.88 million.

Remarkably, Football Manager 2024 hit this historic number 100 days sooner than its predecessor managed to reach its own peak. This swift achievement has secured the game other records too, such as being the most pre-ordered title in the history of the series.

Looking ahead, Sports Interactive's future plans for the Football Manager series include the development of Football Manager 2025. This next installment is set to shift to the Unity engine and will introduce women's football to the game.

The studio's director, Miles Jacobson, after reflecting on 33 years of Football Manager releases, expressed optimism for the series’s future. He emphasized that their current efforts are aimed at laying the foundation for another three decades of innovation within the world of virtual football management.
